Hi Sarah .. I too came across this page by googling it and would love to find out what information and or photos you may have. I am a descendant of Titus Hurlburt and the family crosses paths many times with the Gavels. My Great Grandfather Guy E. Hurlbert married Lydia J. Gavel. There are some spelling changes with the Hurlbert name .. not sure when, but you can see the "urt" changed to "ert".

Anyway if you or anyone else feels like contacting me that would be great. My direct email is mrremax@metrocast.net. I currently live in New Hampshire, USA

Sarah, may I ask how you found out so much? I am descended from Joshua(6 generations back), son of Richard and Elizabeth and this is wonderful detail. I have been researching other branches of the family and am now coming to the Curries but have only New Brunswick and Nova Scotia records to go on so far.

I am glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to the Maritimes; I moved back here after 30 years away.

Thank you, Bev, for considering my work in regards to adding to your records. I have seen my work copied online without a nod in my direction. If you are adding any of this work to your records, please add: "written by" or "compiled by" Sarah E. Fisher... I would really appreciate that!

Earlier today (September 3rd) I received 4 pictures from the Tusket Archives. One of Jacob and Sarah together in their younger years. One of Jacob as a middle aged man. One of Jacob as an older man. One of Sarah in a gorgeous dress (circa 1850).

Hi Sarah

We have some of the same ancestors ( Curries, Dykeman, Vermillyes) and I was delighted to find your stories and pictures. I want to copy them to my records but dont know how to do it and give you credit. I found your site by googling and nothing sems to tell me who did this work. Any advice? By the way I grew up in New brunswick and while I knew a bit about these folks, you have added a lot of detail. Thank you

Wonderful history. I have met many Dykeman's in my youth and I was told that our families are related, perhaps distantly. My grandparent's Ruth and Alex Allan have now passed on as has my father Dave and I will be visiting our ancestral home this summer for the first time on my own. I have so many great memories like fishing in the St. John river, Farmer's Market, ice cream in lower Gagetown, swimming at Robertson's point among many others. Jemseg is such a wonderful place!

A fascinating story. The details make it very interesting...both what is known and what is not known.
